Formed in 2005, Quintessential Brass have been trained individually and as an ensemble at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Their achievements include: Two times runners up in the Phillip Jones Prize for chamber music and masterclasses hosted by the Ni Ensemble, Boston Brass, German Brass and Håkan Hardenberger. A lively and versatile ensemble; Quintessential present recitals, concerts and workshops with regular contracting from the RNCM External Engagement office and have recently begun work for Live Music Now in the northwest.
Quintessential are proud to be joining Euphonium virtuoso David Thornton in January of next year to premiere three brand new pieces at the RNCM Festival of Brass.
